Jennifer Lorenz
Jennifer Lorenz earned her B.A. in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She attended law school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Jennifer also attended the Universidad de Cantabria in Santander, Spain where she focused on international and European Union law. After graduating from law school, Jennifer began working as a litigator in Cleveland, Ohio. Jennifer also worked as In-House Counsel for a large commercial construction company. In 2006 Jennifer began practicing in Colorado and has worked with a wide variety of individuals and businesses ranging from dental assistants to large oil and gas companies.
Jennifer's practice focuses on Business Law, Employment Law and Commercial Litigation. In her business law practice, Jennifer represents a range of companies from emerging start-ups to established corporations. From the inception to merger or acquisition, Jennifer has helped businesses with the multitude of issues that may arise along the way.
In her employment law practice, Jennifer handles a variety of employment issues and counsels both employees and employers regarding all aspects of employment law including employment contracts, employee classifications, employee handbooks and policies, internal investigations, and harassment claims, pay classification, discipline and termination and unemployment insurance benefits.
In her litigation practice, Jennifer works with clients to develop a comprehensive and creative strategy that best fits the clients' objective. Jennifer is experienced with many methods of dispute resolution and has represented client's in a wide range of civil and commercial disputes in state and federal court. Jennifer represents clients in matters related to Contracts, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, Shareholders and Partnerships, Employment and Civil Rights.
Jennifer also represents both buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real estate as well as landlords and tenants. Jennifer is experienced with contracts drafting, review and negotiation and the inevitable issues that may arise after you enter into your real estate agreement.
As the President of the Boulder County Bar Association, Jennifer has published numerous articles in the BCBA Newsletter. As a past Co-Chair of the Boulder County Bar Association Employment Law Section, Jennifer published articles in the BCBA Newsletter regarding The “Ministerial Exception” and Employment Discrimination Claims. Jennifer has presented Continuing Legal Education classes regarding business and employment law, including classes related to entity formation and social media in the workplace. Jennifer is an active member of the Boulder County Bar Association and serves on their Board of Directors, and is the 2019-2020 Boulder County Bar Association President. She also serves on the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors.
