Joel Maguire
Joel Maguire graduated magna cum laude from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado with a degree in Political Science. He is a 1978 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law and has practiced in Boulder for over 30 years. Concentrating in civil litigation, he represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal civil cases, trials, arbitrations, and appeals. His appellate experience includes eighteen published decisions. His areas of practice include employment, construction, real estate, commercial/business, insurance, collections, landlord/tenant and professional negligence. He is a former co-chair of the Employment Law Section of the Boulder County Bar Association. Joel has received a peer review rating of AV by Martindale Hubbell, the preeminent and highest rating achievable.
Joel and his wife have lived in the Boulder area since 1975 and in Niwot since 1989. They have two grown children. Joel has been actively involved with numerous organizations in the Niwot area, including the Niwot Optimist Club, Niwot Community Association, Niwot Youth Sports, and the Niwot High School Education Foundation. He has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Boulder Country Club, is a Past President of the Club, has acted as the club's legal counsel, and has served on numerous club committees. He is a member of the Boulder County and Colorado Bar Associations, a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation and Member of the Boulder County Bar Foundation. Away from work, Joel enjoys golf, skiing, running, basketball, and spectator sports.
