MATTHEW NADEL

Matt is an attorney in the firm’s Energy and Water practice group. He joined the firm in 2022 and his current practice varies from regulatory work in front of the Colorado Public Utility Commission to water law, local government and special district representation, real estate and land use, and civil litigation.  Before joining the firm Matt was a Wyoming Assistant Attorney General where he represented the Department of Environmental Quality on matters of Clean Air Act enforcement, State Implementation Plan administration, administrative practice in front of the Environmental Quality Council, litigation in state and federal courts, and general counsel work that included drafting legislation and regulations.

Matt graduated from Colorado College with a degree in Economics where he was part of the NCAA swim team. After CC, Matt worked as a financial analyst at an international healthcare company, and later as a swim and triathlon coach, before attending the University of Colorado Law School. While at CU Matt focused on energy, environment, and American Indian law where represented tribes and non-profits in the school’s Environmental Clinic while also serving as the Lead Article Editor for the Natural Resource, Environment, and Energy Law Journal.

In his free time Matt coach’s triathletes, bakes Italian style breads, and enjoys romping around the outdoors with his family and dogs.
